Gun Rights Under Attack In Wake Of Shooting

Former ATF Special Agent Jim Cavanaugh was recently interviewed on MSNBC’s “Hardball” after the Florida school shooting. While discussing the tragedy, he stated that the “argument that gun safety laws don’t work” has “jumped Shark Week. It’s gone. Look at these mass killings. That argument is gone.”

Cavanaugh proclaimed, “Well, it’s not going to stop, unless we as the voters want to change it, for many reasons, not only gun safety laws, but many other reasons, mental health, restraining orders, maybe mass violence prevention, restraining orders as I suggest.”

He ended with saying, “And you know, the argument that gun safety laws don’t work has — I mean, it’s jumped Shark Week. It’s gone. Look at these mass killings. That argument is gone. We need to have reasonable laws, not take away anybody’s rights. Everybody’s got to work together, or we’re making the Second Amendment a suicide pact for all of us, our children, the mall, the school, the college.”
