Donald Trump’s Favorite Movie And The Lessons He Learned From It

Donald Trump bears resemblance to a character from his favorite movie according to a new article from Politico. Trump identified his favorite movie in 1992, as the 1941 Orson Welles classic, Citizen Kane. Here is just a small taste of how this film may have influenced Donald Trump.

From Politico.com:

Finally, Kane eventually says to Leland something that has become a tagline for Donald Trump: “You’re fired!”

But Trump’s self-identification with Kane goes further than that. When interviewed for a program about famous people on their favorite movies, Trump said, “I think you learn in Citizen Kane that maybe wealth isn’t everything. Because he had the wealth, but he didn’t have the happiness. The table getting larger, and larger, and larger, with he and his wife getting further and further apart as he got wealthier and wealthier—perhaps I can understand that. … In real life, I do believe that wealth does in fact isolate you from other people.” Trump concluded that “It was a great rise in Citizen Kane. And there was a modest fall.”

You can read the entire article here. While Citizen Kane is a fictional character their are some real similarities to Donald Trump and you can see how Trump might identify with Kane. Then again, maybe this writer from Politico is reading way too much into a movie. Either way the article is a good read.
Truth is stranger than fiction, Citizen Trump would probably be a more unbelievable and entertaining movie anyway.
